Frustration
Sometimes you can get frustrated when things do not work out the way you want them to even though you feel you have done your best. You might get blamed in the wrong at home because you are the oldest child and more is expected from you and that might make you feel frustrated.
Maybe you feel frustrated because no one tells you how good you are and you need some encouragement. Or you get frustrated because you think no one ever listens to you. Always tell someone how you are feeling even though you may think they are not listening to you, they probably will hear what you are saying even though it might not seem so at the time.
Try to avoid situations where you get frustrated. If it feels like one of your brothers or sisters are always getting you into trouble avoid playing a particular game with them and explain to them what happens each time you play this game. Play something else instead. You will have avoided frustration and you will have taught your brother or sister a good lesson too. Well done!I
If a friend or a brother or sister is always taking your toys and you don’t know what the rules are about sharing, ask someone so then you know the boundaries that are in place. Knowing what your boundaries are lets you know what you can do and what you cannot do.
You can tap when you start to feel frustrated to help you understand it . You can look at these pictures of the tapping points here or watch a You Tube video showing you where the points are by clicking here.
You can pick any one of these lines below to say when you are tapping or you can make up your own things to say.
Even though my brother/sister makes me so frustrated I am a great kid.
Even though I feel that no one ever listens to me, I know I am a great kid.
I know that I have a lot of good things to say and I am a great kid.
I accept the boundaries that are in place at school/home and I am a great kid.
And remember, it is ok to feel all the emotions you feel.
